Accident, Sickness & Unemployement
Do I need Accident, Sickness and Unemployement insurance?

The very easy way to look at this is to ask yourself a few important questions. Does your employer offer sick pay? Do you have enough savings that you are willing to use to cover your bills? Could you maintain your lifestyle and expenses if you had Statutory Sick Pay of £86 per week, or Job Seekers Allowance of just £68 per week? If you live with your partner or children, how would it be affected if you lose your permanent income? Would you be able to manage payments of your mortgage or rent? On top of this financial stress, would you be able to fully recover from your accident or sickness, or find a new career, knowing that your situation could be affecting your loved ones?

Accident, Sickness and Unemployement insurance is undoubtedly one of the most important types of insurance. It is not possible to foresee the future, and whilst you may be fit and healthy now anyone could fall sick and be unable to work. It is all too easy to think "it won't happen to me", but the reality is that certain situations are outside of your control. An accident and sickness protection insurance will give you 12 months of tax-free benefits to help you concentrate on getting better.
Some point, everyone who gets made unemployed would be able to find another job straight away. But according to the Office of National Statistics more than 800,000 people in the UK have been out of work for more than 1 year following redundancy. Unemployment insurance policies will give you the financial support for 12 months to find a new job and get back on your feet and can be bought along with accident and sickness cover.
As with all insurance policies, terms, conditions and exclusions will apply.
